| Negotiation Legal Fees
Matthew Mazur, P.A. enters into a
retainer agreement with their clients to represent them
in debt negotiation. Our fees for debt negotiation
representation are a two part flat fee, consisting of a
non-refundable retainer and a flat fee based upon each
debt negotiated on behalf of a client.
The first part of our fee, the
up front non-refundable retainer fee of
$300.00*, which retains our firm to negotiate on behalf
of the client with 5 of their creditors.
The second portion of our fee is based
upon our successful negotiation of debt reduction for our
clients. For each creditor that we successfully
negotiate with on behalf of our client and obtain a
settlement agreement that the client approves, we charge
a flat fee of $300.00.
The flat fee of $300.00 is due upon the
acceptance by the client of each settlement agreement
obtained for them with each of their
creditors.
An example of legal fees in a debt
negotiation case
A client owes a creditor $15,000.00 and the account is a
collection account for non-payment. The client retains Matthew
Mazur, P.A. for $200.00.
Matthew Mazur, P.A. negotiates with the
creditor to obtain a payoff amount on behalf of the client in
the amount of $7,500.00. The creditor provides us with
confirmation that they will agree to accept the $7,500.00 as a
"final settlement" of this outstanding debt. The settlement
proposal is provided to the client for approval.
The client reviews and approves the
settlement proposal. Upon the client's approval, the flat fee
of $300.00 is paid by the client to Matthew Mazur, P.A.
As such, the debt negotiation has resulted in
a savings to the client as follows:
| Original Debt |
$15,000.00 |
| Negotiated Debt
Reduction (50%) |
- $7,500.00 |
| Lump Sum Payoff
amount to Creditor |
$7,500.00 |
| |
|
| Negotiated savings on
original debt |
$7,500.00 |
| One-Time Up Front
Retainer Fee* |
-$300.00 |
| Flat fee per debt
Negotiated |
-$300.00 |
| Total Actual Savings To
Client |
$6,900.00 |
*The One-Time Up Front Retainer covers
negotiation with 5 creditors. For each creditor a client
has above 5, the initial retainer is increased by $25.00. As
such, if a client has 6 creditors they wish to have the firm
negotiate with, the Up Front Retainer will be $325.00. The
above example assumes a client with only 5 creditors.
The flat fee of $300.00 is due upon the acceptance by the client
of each settlement agreement obtained for them with each
of their creditors. Typically, the payment of the
settlement payoff to each specific creditor will be due
15 to 90 days from the date the settlement agreement is
accepted by the client.
The above example is for demonstration
purposes only and does not reflect the savings or the
contingency fees that will be charged by our firm in every
case. Each client and case is different. We cannot guarantee
the outcome of any case we handle, but we can guarantee that we
will put forth our best efforts to obtain satisfactory results
for our clients.
